Get In Her Ears Live @ The Finsbury w/ Dream Nails, 13.04.18

Following a host of super amazing bands playing for us recently – including LIINES, Witch Fever, The Magnettes, H.Grimace, Temples Of Youth and Ghum  – we were back at The Finsbury on Friday night for another jam-packed night of the best new music.

Kicking off the night is Gold Baby. Treating us to their twinkling slices of utterly infectious indie-pop, lush vocals and jangly hooks flow as the sunny charisma of front-woman Siân Alex charms each and every one of us.

Next up, the raw, soulful punk pop of Madame So blows us all away. As her gritty vocals ooze a refreshing honesty, scuzzy melodies leave us completely engrossed in her unique, catchy offerings.

Penultimate band of the night The Franklys blast into our eyes and ears with the ferocious intensity of their raging garage rock. Complete with some witty between-song banter, they deliver a truly unforgettable, energy-fuelled set.

Headlining are Get In Her Ears’ favourite Feminist Punk Witches, Dream Nails. Dressed in matching sparkling white, they fill the packed-out venue with their seething, punk-filled power and empowering force. With their impassioned plea for ‘All Girls To The Front’, they treat us to their inspired, raucous offerings, raging against domestic violence, misogyny and bullies with all the effervescent, buoyant energy you could ever desire. As a wonderful aura of female unity and motivation sweeps throughout the crowd, we’re reminded once again why we need Dream Nails in our lives. It’s truly an honour to have these strong-spirited, inspirational women return to headline for us after they opened our first ever night at The Finsbury back in October 2016.

Huge thanks to the four AMAZING bands who played for us and for all who came along to make it such a wonderful night. Next month, we have not one but two gigs! We’ll be at The Finsbury on 11th May with Suzie Stapleton, and on 23rd May we’ll have our first gig at The Windmill with Heavy Heart!

Get In Her Ears Live @ The Finsbury w/ LIINES, 09.02.18

Following a host of super amazing bands playing for us over the last year – including Witch Fever, The Magnettes, H.Grimace, REWS, Trash Kit and Deux Furieuses – we were back at The Finsbury on Friday night for another jam-packed night of the best new music.

Kicking off the night are Sheffield/Leeds creators of wonderfully wonky noise-pop, Duck. Treating us to a whirring array of synth-filled sonic delights, they deliver an utterly unique and fantastically quirky set.

Next up are Get In Her Ears faves Suggested Friends. Despite missing a bassist, they succeed in delivering their immensely infectious, thoroughly engaging ‘tweemo’ punk-pop to perfection. As the crowd unites in a buoyant joy, the band grace us with racing, catchy hooks and luscious harmonies as Faith Taylor’s witty charm and exquisite vocals flow with ease.

Penultimate band of the night, Bugeye, blow us all away with their powerful disco-punk force. Propelled by impeccable cowbell-filled beats, their politically charged offerings are filled with a frenzied energy as front-woman Angela Martin’s seething vocals soar.

Manchester trio LIINES headline the night with an immense, impassioned energy. With shades of the likes of Sleater Kinney or Savages, pummelling beats and throbbing bass lines rage as the raw, commanding vocals of Zoe McVeigh blast into the crowded venue with a dark, brooding power.

HUGE thanks to the four fantastic bands who made Friday night so awesome, and to everyone who made it down to support us for our third birthday celebrations! And make sure you don’t miss our International Women’s Day special on 9th March when Ghum will be headlining, along with some very special SECRET guests!

Get In Her Ears Live @ The Finsbury w/ Witch Fever, 12.01.18

Following a host of super amazing bands playing for us over the last year – including The Magnettes, H.Grimace, REWS, Trash Kit, Temples Of Youth and Deux Furieuses – we were back at The Finsbury on Friday night for our first gig of 2018 for an immense line up of the best new music.

Kicking off the night are South London based Militant Girlfriend, delivering their completely gorgeous pop-punk sounds and infectious charm.

Next up are Brighton duo ARXX. Blowing us all away with their raw, grunge-fuelled energy, they treat us to a fantastically powerful set filled with racing beats and seething, gritty vocals; all delivered with glittery finesse. A new favourite band, for sure.

Their second time playing for us, The Nyx fill the packed out venue with their electrifying energy and fierce ferocity, blasting out all the riotous riffs and raw, emotion-strewn passion you could ever desire. Delivering old favourites as well as some of their new, full-moon releases, they’re an exceptional, empowering force to be reckoned with.

Headlining, we’re privileged to have Manchester’s Witch Fever, who’ve made two six hour coach journeys – here and back – to be with us. With a truly immense power, they end the night with their frenzied, raucous offerings. As thrashing beats race, front woman Amy’s incredible, snarling energy steals the show, and we’re all left completely in awe of this band’s formidable intensity.

Another night of incredible live music from some of the best new bands. In the words of The Nyx’s Becky Wixon, “let’s make 2018 the year of the woman“!

Catch us next month, 9th February, when LIINES will be headlining for us.
