LISTEN: GIHE x The Great Escape Festival on Soho Radio ft. Rubie & Comic Sans (01.05.26)

Kate and Mari were live in the Soho Radio studio with a special show dedicated to the female, non-binary and LGBTQ+ musicians who are playing The Great Escape Festival in Brighton this year!

For the first time ever, Get In Her Ears will have their own showcase on The Beach Soundwaves stage on Saturday 17th May, featuring Scrounge, Comic Sans, RUBIE, Maria Uzor and afromerm. We’re also hosting our own after-party at The Bee’s Mouth from 11:30pm until late.

To celebrate this milestone on the show, Tash shared a wonderful pre-recorded interview they conducted with RUBIE, discussing their anticipations for the festival and their upcoming support slots with Jasmine.4.t. Plus, Rachel from Comic Sans dropped into the studio to keep Kate & Mari company and chat through some of the tracks on the eclectic playlist – we packed a lot in!

Tash and Kate were live in the Soho Radio this month, playing plenty of new music tunes from some of their favourite female, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists. They spoke about upcoming GIHE gigs in April (Comic Sans and STRAIGHT GIRL), enthused about the artists they selected for their individual ‘Tracks Of The Show’ (HAAi, Eilis Frawley and Tamara & The Dreams) and Tash teased the story of her recent raunchy dream featuring Courtney Love. LISTEN: GIHE on Soho Radio with Shy Charles (09.12.24)

Tash, Kate and Mari were back on Soho Radio for the final GIHE show of 2024, playing some of their highlights from their favourite female, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists who released new music this year. They spoke about their top tracks and albums and they shared memorable live music moments from the past 12 months too.

Fabulous self-taught harpist and folk artist Shy Charles also dropped into the studio to talk about their festive EP, Shylent Night. They spoke about their journey into music, the inspirations behind their Christmas record, plus, they shared anecdotes about the accompanying video for their cover of Spice Girls’ iconic track ‘2 Become 1’ – watch it here!

Tash, Kate and Mari enthused about the eclectic tracks on the playlist, which included ARXX, Ibibio Sound Machine, Fightmilk, Berries, Hello Mary, The None, Rubie, Gazelle Twin, Wednesday, Midwife, Say She She, Circe, Cerys Hafana,Joanna Sternberg and more.

The trio also reflected on their summer of festivals. Tash spoke about their time at Green Man in Wales, Kate waxed lyrical about the power of Supersonic Festival in Birmingham and Mari shared some of her highlights from London’s All Points East.
