Tash, Kate and Mari were back on Soho Radio for the final GIHE show of 2024, playing some of their highlights from their favourite female, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists who released new music this year. They spoke about their top tracks and albums and they shared memorable live music moments from the past 12 months too.

Fabulous self-taught harpist and folk artist Shy Charles also dropped into the studio to talk about their festive EP, Shylent Night. They spoke about their journey into music, the inspirations behind their Christmas record, plus, they shared anecdotes about the accompanying video for their cover of Spice Girls’ iconic track ‘2 Become 1’ – watch it here!

Tash, Kate and Mari enthused about the eclectic tracks on the playlist, which included ARXX, Ibibio Sound Machine, Fightmilk, Berries, Hello Mary, The None, Rubie, Gazelle Twin, Wednesday, Midwife, Say She She, Circe, Cerys Hafana,Joanna Sternberg and more.

Resident “Gloomy Grrrl” Kate took the lead for the June edition of Get In Her Ears’ Soho Radio show, spinning loads of new music from some of the team’s favourite female, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists. She played a string of queer anthems to acknowledge Pride month, gave a shout out to the incredible success of the Bands Boycott Barclays initiative, and enthusiastically spoke about GIHE being mentioned in the same news article as Taylor Swift.

Tash and Kate were back on Soho Radio playing loads of new music from some of their favourite female, non-binary and LGBTQIA+ artists. Mari offered some of her “musical musings” too. Tash spoke to artist & activist Stav Bee about the upcoming Dyke March, which is returning to London for the first time since 2013. The march will take place on Saturday 22nd June. There will also be a fundraiser cabaret & party event at The Divine in East London on 11th May to help raise money for the march.

Nigerian/Irish artist BUKKY also came into the studio to chat about their brand new video for their track ‘Heartburn‘, what inspired their debut EP, Location 419, and how their sound and performance has developed over time as they have evolved on both a personal and a creative level.
