Premiere: MALMØ – ‘We Come From The Stars (Tronhjem Remix)’

Having just released their debut album, Danish collective MALMØ have previous received acclaim from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio and Crack In The Road, and have now shared a brand new video.

This Christian Tronhjem remix of the album’s title track, ‘We Come From The Stars’, totally reworked by the Berlin-based sound designer and producer. Maintaining the song’s original shimmering ethereal hooks and sweeping honey-sweet vocals, the remix adds catchy pulsating beats and a driving energy, making for the perfect summer dance-floor anthem.

Video Premiere: MALMØ – ‘We Come From The Stars’

Following the success of her last single ‘You’, Danish artist Maria Malmø and her band – aka MALMØ – have now shared another captivating offering from their upcoming debut album.

The title track from the album, ‘We Come From The Stars’ is an exquisite, twinkling slice of alt-pop, showcasing everything there is to love about MALMØ. Flowing with Maria’s soulful, rich vocals, delicate, shimmering melodies and a sweeping ethereal splendour, it’s an utterly dreamy creation, oozing a resplendent, other-worldly magic.

Of the inspiration behind the track, Maria explains:

“We’re nature all the way through – although we often forget it because of all the layers and things we surround ourselves with. It gives me great peace and a sense of purpose to think that we actually consist of stardust: Nitrogen in our brains, chalk in our bones, iron in our veins, and carbon in our souls.”

Premiere: MALMØ – ‘You’

Danish artist Maria Malmø and her band have lately been building a reputation in their homeland for their immersive live performances, and are now set to release their debut album next year.

Taken from the album is new single ‘You’. Flowing with sweeping, delicate melodies alongside Maria’s sultry vocals, it oozes a unique, emotion-strewn splendour and spine-tingling, twinkling romanticism. With shades of the likes of Agnes Obel, it’s a truly moving offering that shines with its own effervescent majesty.

Of her songwriting, Malmø explains:

“I dream of touching people with my music, reaching their – and my own – inner
core. I believe that music can do that, and that there’s a need for art that inspires the good in people. I think we all need that in this world on the edge of self-destruction.”
