Video Premiere: KOSCHKA – ‘The Flood’

No newcomer to the music scene, and already the lead singer of indie-electro quartet Nausica, Berlin-based artist KOSCHKA has now announced her debut album – a collection containing a combination of originals and re-arrangements of classical German songs.

Taken from the upcoming album, new single ‘The Flood’ oozes a sweeping grandeur and haunting, majestic power. Inspired by themes of ephemeral love, acceptance and regret, it flows with twinkling keys as the impressive range of KOSCHKA’s resonating vocals soar across a luscious soundscape with an effervescent grace. Casting its spell over you in an instant, ‘The Flood’ is a truly spellbinding slice of poignant alt-pop, now with stirring visuals to match.

Of inspiration behind her writing, KOSCHKA explains:

“… I became mesmerised by Berlin’s spirit and started writing down everything I observed. Listening through the rich culture of classical songs and enjoying life, I began to start each day at my acoustic piano and just record instantly. No overthinking, just playing. I discovered a new way of composing; to tell relatable tales with a timeless character. Poetic, scary, uncertain, remarkable, direct, fragile and strong.

Premiere: Hero Fisher – ‘If I Die And Nothing Happens’

Having collaborated with the likes of Alison Mosshart and Boy George, and opened for none other than The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park, London-based Hero Fisher is now set to release her sophomore album, Glue Moon.

Taken from the album, new single ‘If I Die And Nothing Happens’ is a song about letting loose and enjoying life while it lasts. Propelled by driving beats and the dark power of Hero’s deep, sultry vocals, the track builds to a sweeping, emotion-rich anthem with shades of the likes of Róisín Murphy or PJ Harvey. Oozing a majestic, cinematic splendour, it’s an instantly infectious brooding slice of alt-pop.

Premiere: Lucy Mason – ‘Flashback Romance’

Following her critically acclaimed 2017 EP, and acclaim from the likes of The Independent and Wonderland, dream-pop soloist Lucy Mason has returned with her beautiful brand new single, ‘Flashback Romance’.

Taken from Mason’s upcoming debut album, due out in two parts over the course of the year, ‘Flashback Romance’ oozes smooth, luscious vocals and twinkling, emotion-strewn melodies. A spellbinding slice of shimmering romanticism, it’ll leave you longing for more of her heartfelt creations.

Of the recording process, Mason explains:

“I spent a lot of last year thinking about when I was growing up and I found myself as what I can only describe as falling in love with old memories & stories that I’d forgotten all about. When so much had changed, I couldn’t help remember what everything was like ‘before’ and when I started looking back, I couldn’t stop. I really hope these songs take you back in time, whether it’s back to old memories with best friends or back to your first heartbreak or cigarette. All these kinds of stories are tangled up in us somewhere no matter who we are or where we’ve come from & somehow in making these songs, they satisfied my feelings of nostalgia and made me happy but still somehow, remarkably sad. I called it Flashback Romance, as that’s exactly what writing this album was for me.”

‘Flashback Romance’ is due for release tomorrow, 6th July.
