Having sold out headline shows at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and The Sebright Arms, as well as having supported the likes of LA Witch, fuzzed out desert rockers Saint Agnes are now in the midst of an extensive UK Tour.

Music and activism are a match made in heaven, so we were thrilled to have our photographer Jon Mo capturing the likes of Saint Agnes, Dead Coast, The Wild Things and The Sly Persuaders at the Rock Against Violence gig in aid of Solace Women’s Aid on Thursday night.

Held at the O2 Academy Islington, the event was a fundraiser for the charity, who provide vital and important services to vulnerable women and their children. Rock Against Violence is driven by Power of Solace, a volunteer organisation that raises funds to benefit Solace Women’s Aid via various events and activities throughout the year. Established in 2011, Rock Against Violence has grown into Solace’s annual flagship music event, earning a staggering £26,000 in 2016.

Check out Jon’s stunning shots below, and visit Power Of Solace’s Facebook Page to find out more about this important organisation.

Power Of Solace Announce Rock Against Violence 2017 Line-up

Rock Against Violence is back for its 6th year running, taking place on Thursday 16th November at the Islington O2 Academy. This year, the concert is partnering with London-based upcoming DIY label Roadkill Records and will feature some of the capital’s best new bands, all in aid of Solace Women’s Aid.

Solace is a London-based charity that supports women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence, helping more than 11,000 survivors each year. Established in 2011, Rock Against Violence has grown into Solace’s annual flagship music event, raising a staggering £26,000 in 2016. So, join them on 16th November for a night of fun, entertainment and prizes, all for a very worthy cause.

Bands playing on the night include:

– Get In Her Ears faves and past guests on our radio show, alt-rockers The Wild Things.

– Electro-pop producer Plum (Shona Maguire).

– Raucous garage-rockers The Sly Persuaders.

– Psych-blues band Dead Coast.

– Awesome garage rock band and RAV 2017 headliners Saint Agnes.

Of the event, Mary Mason – chief executive officer at Solace Women’s Aid – has said:

“We’re really thrilled and grateful that these talented bands are all helping us campaign against domestic and sexual abuse. There is such a widespread problem across the capital with thousands of women and children needing support after experiencing horrific abuse. Gigs like these reach new audiences and help raise awareness of the issues as well as the services that can support women and girls to be safe, recover and live independently free from abuse.”

Advanced tickets cost £15 and are on sale at RAV2017.eventbrite.co.uk. Tickets on the door will be £18. If you cannot attend on 16 November, please consider making a donation to Solace Women’s Aid via Virgin Money Giving.
