Premiere: Nuala – ‘Split Down The Middle’

Having received acclaim from the likes of BBC 6Music’s Steve LaMacq and the Evening Standard, and featuring as lead vocals on a remix of Nile Rogers’ ‘Le Freak’, multi-instrumentalist Nuala has now shared her brand new single.

Oozing rich soulful vocals and uptempo reggae-inspired beats, ‘Split Down The Middle’ flows with a vibrant, euphoric energy. Showcasing an upcoming artist on the rise, it’s a truly uplifting slice of alt-pop with a colourful, infectious groove.

A pensive, light-hearted retrospection on feelings of melancholy and heartache, Welsh indie outfit Kidsmoke have shared their latest single ‘Sister Sadness’. The track is full of chiming guitars and low-key vocals, which combine to make the band’s first release of 2018 an uplifting and memorable tune.

With backing on the airwaves from Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music Recommends Track Of The Week) alongside widespread approval from the online community (and a sync in Netflix’s Black Mirror), Kidsmoke are primed for the spotlight in the coming months with tour dates dotted across the UK.

Produced by Russ Hayes (Orange Sound Recording Studio, Penmaenmawr), Kidsmoke’s ‘Sister Sadness’ is available on all digital platforms. Listen below, and follow the band on Facebook for more updates.

Track Of The Day: Beckie Margaret – ‘At Home (Where I Write)’

“’At Home (Where I Write’) is a reflection of how music can carry me out of the depths of my mind,” explains Essex song-writer & producer Beckie Margaret. Released via Cool Thing Records, Margaret’s bright, ear-melting voice on her second single will lift listeners up and out of their heads too.

Beckie’s first release ‘Cars and Catacombs’ received universal praise across the net and the airwaves and her follow-up is equally as charming. She left the crowd spellbound after performing it at her debut London gig at The Waiting Room for Parallel Lines last month (which we reviewed here), and can’t wait to see what she does next.
