Following their EP The Only Way Is Lost and last year’s ‘Science (Gone Wrong)’, Guernsey’s Track Not Found have now signed to Funnel Music and shared a brand new single.

Oozing a raw, punk-infused energy ‘Run Me Down’ is propelled by scuzzy throbbing bass and gritty vocals as it races with an immense, soaring power. Filled with catchy hooks and an impassioned, gutsy emotion, it’s an instant ear-worm, marking this young band out as definite ones to watch in 2019.

Track Of The Day: Boy Harsher – ‘Fate’

Massachusetts duo Boy Harsher have shared the second track from their forthcoming new album, Careful, which will be released on February 1st via their own label Nude Club Records. Titled ‘Fate’, the new song is four minutes of off-kilter synths, breathy seductive vocals and dance inducing beats.

The track is accompanied by a startling set of visuals, directed and produced by Bryan M. Ferguso. The video shows a blood-thirsty young woman hunting her prey against a dark cityscape – reminiscent of cult 80’s film Lost Boys (minus the mullets, of course).

Speaking about ‘Fate’, Boy Harsher explain: “It’s a song about how there’s no amount of running that can prevent you from your life. You are raw and beat-down, yet you will continue to behave the same way – ‘Fate’ is your own trouble, a magnetic force that’s stuck on you forever.”

Track Of The Day: Argonaut – ‘Girl Talk’

Since releasing their third album Forever last year, London band Argonaut have undergone a line-up change incorporating additional female members including former luminaries of legendary indie groups Hefner and Monochrome Set and UK Riot Grrrls Linus. Now, with their latest EP, appropriately entitled The New Argonaut EP, the band have stayed true to their DIY roots with this collection of infectious offerings.

Taken from the EP, latest single ‘Girl Talk’ is an empowering, punk-pop anthem. With motivational lyrics such as “You rock, you can change the world, you inspire boys and girls, you can do anything!”, it’s the perfect pick-me-up to kick start the new year. Filled with shimmering hooks and a magnificent punk-rock spirit, it’ll leave you ready to face 2019 with all the immense, buoyant energy that it oozes.

Track Of The Day: Bubble & Squeak – ‘The Christmas Stick’

It seems Poppy Hankin has a knack for creating perfect festive ditties; following Girl Ray’s ‘(I Wish I Were Giving You A Gift) This Christmas’ last year, she has now teamed up with The Boy Least Likely To’s Jof Owen to treat our ears to a sparkling slacker pop masterpiece.

Depicting a chance encounter on a lonely winter’s night between two strangers whose eyes meet across a bustling broadway, ‘The Christmas Stick’ is filled with completely dreamy, twinkling melodies and an endearing, scuzzy charm. As luscious harmonies flow alongside the joyous sound of sleigh-bells and a slight whirr of wistful melancholy, it’s the perfect antidote to some of the usual festive drivel circulating at this time of year. An uplifting slice of shimmering garage-pop to accompany those hot toddies, mince pies and inescapable pre-Christmas anxiety.

Of the track, Hankin explains: 

“Jof told me about the idea for the song one night in the pub, but all he had so far was the line “you’ve been hit, you’ve been hit, you’ve been hit by The Christmas Stick”. I remember singing an idea for it straight away and then we got together the next morning and wrote the rest of it. It ended up being a really sweet love song, which we didn’t expect it to be.”
