Video Premiere: MALMØ – ‘We Come From The Stars’

Following the success of her last single ‘You’, Danish artist Maria Malmø and her band – aka MALMØ – have now shared another captivating offering from their upcoming debut album.

The title track from the album, ‘We Come From The Stars’ is an exquisite, twinkling slice of alt-pop, showcasing everything there is to love about MALMØ. Flowing with Maria’s soulful, rich vocals, delicate, shimmering melodies and a sweeping ethereal splendour, it’s an utterly dreamy creation, oozing a resplendent, other-worldly magic.

Of the inspiration behind the track, Maria explains:

“We’re nature all the way through – although we often forget it because of all the layers and things we surround ourselves with. It gives me great peace and a sense of purpose to think that we actually consist of stardust: Nitrogen in our brains, chalk in our bones, iron in our veins, and carbon in our souls.”

VIDEO PREMIERE: Saint Genevieve – ‘Lies’

In her latest single ‘Lies’, Saint Genevieve chronicles the search for light in darkness after the end of a toxic relationship. Inspired by great artists, both in paint and in music, Saint Genevieve’s music places her emotions on a melodic canvas, combining dominating vocals with crisp production to gift listeners with an audible artwork.

This movement from light to darkness is represented by the haunting echoes at the beginning of the song, as well as resonant guitar twangs that create an inescapable sense of anxiety, with the sentiment of relief depicted by the sunset at the finale of the ‘Lies’ official video.

Saint Genevieve does not seek to imitate other artists and with training that stretches from classical to jazz, she mixes the finest of global music to create her own unique sound. Watch the video for ‘Lies’ below, and follow Saint Genevieve on Facebook for more updates.

Video Premiere: Hero Fisher – ‘I Let Love’

Born in Britain and raised in France, London-based artist Hero Fisher is indeed heroic in more ways than one; having previously collaborated with Alison Mosshart and Boy George, opened for The Rolling Stones and Neil Young at Hyde Park, been shortlisted for the 2014 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Prize, and received acclaim from the likes of Blur’s Dave Rowntree, it seems there is no limit to what she is capable of achieving. Following her debut album back in 2015, she is now set to release her sophomore album Glue Moon.

Taken from the album is new single ‘I Let Love’. An impassioned slice or raw alt-rock, it’s filled with Fisher’s soulful vocals alongside twinkling melodies and an alluring gritty edge. Oozing a subtle power and a sweeping emotive splendour in the vein of the likes of Alison Mosshart or Beth Orton, it showcases all that there is to love about this promising artist, and is proof of why Fisher should be everyone’s new musical hero.
