VIDEO PREMIERE: Queen Zee & The Sasstones – ‘Fly The Pink Flag’

Here at Get In Her Ears, we’re both excited and honoured to be hosting the video premiere for Queen Zee & The Sasstones‘ latest track, ‘Fly The Pink Flag’.

At their recent show at The Garage in London supporting Marmozets, frontwoman Queen Zee dedicated the track to the victims of the Orlando nighclub shootings in 2016 – which claimed the lives of 49 LGBT people. With her guttural screams and a collective commitment to raising awareness, Queen Zee & The Sasstones are making sure tragedies like this are not forgotten, whilst simultaneosuly giving listeners a chance to escape by dancing and screaming along in solidarity.

The band draw heavily on a variety of musical influences; from the teenage rampage of 70’s garage and punk rock, to the wildest elements of exploratory 80’s pop. They blur the lines between everything – from sexuality/gender politics to global politics. Ultimately, they say they’re more influenced by the city’s working class, LGBT+ community and diversity than by what they see in the music scene around them.

The video for ‘Fly The Pink Flag’ was filmed during a live session at Elevator Studios, and it captures the band in all their vibrant live glory. Watch the video below, and follow Queen Zee & The Sasstones on Facebook for more updates.
