Recorded at Bella Studios by Penelope Isles’ Jack Wolter and filmed by Summer Dean, Brighton alt-pop outfit CIEL have shared a live video for their track ‘Naked’. Filled with soft vocals, hazy guitar sounds and dreamy keys, the track is a taste of what’s to come from the band over the next few months.
After being involved in different projects in the Dutch indie scene, vocalist Michelle Hindriks moved to Brighton in 2018. The change of scenery and the music community she immersed herself in sparked her creativity, and she soon transformed CIEL from a solo act into a band project. Guitarist Jorge Bela Jimenez, bassist/songwriter Kieran Mansfield, and drummer Lawrie Miller now complete the lineup, and together CIEL create sounds reminiscent of Alvvays, Broadcast and Cate Le Bon.
The band are currently recording their second EP with Jack Wolter, which will be mixed by Iggy B in Strongroom Studios in London. The first single is set for release in Autumn 2019, so keep your eyes peeled. Listen to CIEL’s live version of ‘Naked’ below and follow the band on Facebook for more updates.
