Today, we’ve picked our August 2019 show with London-based jazz musician Jelly Cleaver. She spoke to Kate & Mari about her her DIY ethos, her activism, and her jazz punk fusions. Jelly currently has a new single released via Nice Swan records. The track is called ‘Feeling Fine’ and features vocals from Shunaji & Maddy Coombs. You can listen to it here.

Today, we’ve picked our May 2018 show with feminist punks The Menstrual Cramps. The grrrls talked to Mari & Kate about their second album, Free Bleedin, how they stand up to neo-nazis, and what originally inspired them to start making music. Kate also casually dropped into the conversation that she won Cooper’s guitar in a raffle at Loud Women‘s 2018 Galentine’s Day Ball (she still hasn’t learned how to play it.)

LISTEN: BLÓM – ‘Meat’

A cathartic, riotous exploration of objectification and self autonomy; BLÓM‘s latest track ‘Meat’ is a raging cacophony of distorted guitars, vicious vocals and relentless percussion. Lifted from their album Flower Violence, which is set for release on 1st May via Box Records, the track is accompanied by a striking set of visuals, directed by Stuart Walkinshaw.

Self-described as “three qt punks playing pure radge shit; with female, trans and non binary members”, BLÓM are known for their blistering tunes that tackle inequality, and explore issues surrounding mental health and gender identity. On ‘Meat’, the band – along with Walkinshaw’s guidance – have taken live recordings of the song and mixed and mastered it to full fury levels for their upcoming album.
