Following the success of their wonderful debut album I, Gemini, childhood friends Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth – aka Let’s Eat Grandma – have now returned to grace our ears with a sparkling new single.
Produced by SOPHIE, ‘Hot Pink’ is somewhat harder-hitting than previous offerings. Addressing gender politics, it’s filled with glitchy ethereal vibes as a sweeping electronic soundscape soars alongside the subtle power of the duo’s distinctive playful vocals. Complete with immense pulsating beats and dance-pop hooks, in addition to their trademark twinkling musicality, Let’s Eat Grandma’s latest offering showcases how they’re honing their sound to continue creating something truly innovative.
Of the track, the duo explain:
“‘Hot Pink’ is about the misconceptions of femininity and masculinity and the power of embracing both of them. It’s about self-expression and appreciation for an underrated colour.”
‘Hot Pink’ is out now. And you can catch Let’s Eat Grandma live at Vauxhall’s Lightbox on 8th March.
