Track Of The Day: LUCIA – ‘Melted Ice Cream’

Discovered whilst busking in the streets of Glasgow, LUCIA‘s career has taken a remarkable turn since she released her debut EP Best Boy via indie label Dead Beet Records last year.

The singer has supported bands like Black Honey, The Big Moon and The Undertones on tour, and her sound has been described as encapsulating the “bubble-gum aesthetic of The Ronettes with the seething punk attitude of Bikini Kill”. Sharing bills and blog-space with prolific names such as these is an achievement LUCIA should definitely be proud of.

She’s set to release her new single ‘Melted Ice Cream’ tomorrow on Jan 12th, and she’ll be celebrating alongside her band tonight at The Old Blue Last with a headline show with support from Chemtrails and HUSSY (RSVP here). Listen to the track below and make sure you head down to the gig tonight to support her.
